play the phone≠玩手机
play的确有“玩”之意，但play后边接的是直接玩的对象，比如：play the piano, play football
但是我们说的"玩手机"，具体地说是：花时间在手机上，玩的不是手机，而是玩里面的各种软件，浏览各种网上的东西
如果你说 play the phone, 那就相当于把手机当成球一样踢了
那如何用英文正确的表达“玩手机”呢？
①Spend time on your phone
花时间在手机上，其实也是表示你在玩手机
eg: Chinese people currently spend more time on the phone than on the computer.
中国人现在花在手机上的时间超过花在电脑上的。
②Use the phone
使用手机
eg: Does using a phone while it is charging really damage the battery?
手机充电的时候用手机（玩手机）真的会对电池造成损害吗？
overuse phones过度使用手机
overuse [ˌoʊvərˈjuːs ]
v.使用过度、滥用 ；n.使用过度
现在很多人都用大量时间来玩手机，所以我们可以直接说overuse phones，过度使用手机、玩手机。
eg: Children should avoid overusing phones.
孩子应该避免过度玩手机.
③play on the phone
玩手机
如果一定要用play, 可以把它变成不及物动词说 play on the phone
比如 play the games on your phone 就是在手机上玩游戏
eg: You can play WeChat on your phone.
在你的手机上玩微信。
刷手机
刷手机，刷卡都可以用：swipe， 意思是“滑动”。
注意：刷手机虽然是在手机屏幕上滑， 但是不需要加on.

翻看手机
平常翻看手机可以用： look through my phone
如果只是 短暂的看一眼手机可以用： check my phone

“手机没电”英语怎么说？
My phone's off和My phone's dead
通常是表示完全没电了
My phone's dying
则是表示电量慢慢消失的状态
eg: My phone's dying, I gotta go.
我手机快没电了，先挂了。
或者也可以用out of juice, 这里juice相当于口语中的power
out of juice=out of power 没电了
这是非常口语化的表达方式
eg: His phone had run out of juice during the school day, and so he had taken a seat near an electrical outlet.
他的手机在白天已经用得快没电了，所以他坐在一个靠近电源插座的地方。
上瘾
有一个很形象的短语可以形容大家对手机感觉：
can't put it down: 无法放下，爱不释手
I just can't put my phone down. 我玩手机根本停不下来。
对手机上瘾，还可以说：
①glued to the phone
这个词相对中性
eg: She's glued to the phone.
她对手机上瘾了。
②addicted to the phone
这个词比较负面， 心理已经产生了严重的依赖。
eg: She's addicted to computer games. 她对电脑游戏上瘾。
低头族
phubbuer：/'fʌbɚ/ 低头族
phubber=phone+snubber(冷落他人者)
所以， 如果你身边有经常低头看手机， 而冷落了身边的人的人就可以叫他/她: phubber.
动词是：phub
如果你受不了phubber的行为了， 就可以嚷嚷下：
